LLinE Lifelong Learning in Europe

FOURTH INTERNATIONAL LLinE CONFERENCE
Creating Human Capital – Lifelong Learning for the Knowledge Society

26 – 28 SEPTEMBER 2001 IN HELSINKI

The business world as well as the world of education and the third sector need to recognise the resources in people, their people, and look for good conditions for them to use their creativity. Ultimately the significance of people’s mental resources can be recognised in the learning society. A fruitful approach to human resources and lifelong learning requires knowledge of learning processes.

A working and discussing conference for people who are interested in or involved in knowledge management and creating human capital either in enterprises or educational institutions or in the third sector organisations.

· Keynote speakers Prof. Frank Achtenhagen, Germany, Prof. Paul Ilsley, USA, Prof. Peter Jarvis, UK, Dr. Paul Keursten, the Netherlands, Markku Markkula, MSc (Tech), MP, Finland, Prof. Kalevi Olin, MP, Finland, Prof. Tom Schuller, UK, Prof. Pirjo Ståhle, Finland and Ilkka Tuomi.

· Clarification of concepts like knowledge creation, knowledge management, knowledge productivity, human capital. The global environment renders creating human capital and lifelong learning more and more important both for the individual, the global market economy, and the learning society.

· Benchmarking best practices in study visits in small groups to big and small companies, NGOs and education institutions as well as Finnish Parliament.

· We invite participants to present their own experiences and projects for discussion and feedback in poster sessions.
